Fiddlefest and Car show Downtown St. Catharines
ByOnly sixteen more days left till the foot stompin’, fiddlin’ begins!
The second annual Fiddlefest and Car show is July 11th, Downtown St.Catharines.
There will be antique cars and great entertainment, including Good Rockin To-night with David Tufford and Marty Allen, Ryson’s Golden Hammers and our new Ryson’s all girl band, Taking Care of Business Daisy Chicks.
D’Addario of Canada has donated a Beaver Creek Back Packer guitar and bag
for our raffle draw.
Tickets for the draw are 5.00 each and all of the proceeds will help sponsor scholarships for our fiddle and stepdancing students.
In addition to D’Addario, I’d like to thank Counterpoint Music, Kay Annable, The Old Tyme Fiddlers Club, and some private individuals for helping to sponsor students and keep fiddling and stepdancing vibrant.
The Silver Spire Church will be providing a barbecue at Fiddlefest.
The downtown association will be suppling inflatables for children ,stage, tents, chairs, and the many beautiful collectible automobile
This promises to be a great outing for you and your family.

I think that it is great, that you can win this Beaver Creek Guitar at the Fiddelfest. I have one myself and I love it. It’s a great guitar to start with. It’s one of my 4 guitars but my favourite! It also has a pickup in it so you can plug it into an amp.

Wow, that is wonderful! Its very clean and rhythmic. I hope you win! Good job!
That is a song you can have a lot of fun with while you are making the whistles,
you can play the ’snake dance’ on the A string, which always gets a laugh and
you can momentary bow the G string, which makes a lower pitched whistle
and say \Here comes a Diesel!\. That was a good sound of brakes, by the
way!
My teacher from the Augusta Festival has a good set of videos on You Tube. Just
put in his name \Buddy Spicher\ and you can find him teaching Orange Blossom Special and some of how he does it.
